Dada Lives
It’s not Dada that is nonsense, but the essence of our age that is nonsense. — D.D. Dada
Dr. Dada is a creation of his own ideation, a myth in his own mind.
Other than being Dada’s protégé, translator, and fellow traveler in this unfolding narrative, James Retherford is of no biographical significance whatsoever.

Austin needs a Cabaret Voltaire
Wonderful that you have started this portal to or through Dada! I have long been a follower of Dada, surrealism and that delicious, fleeting slice of time. If you are interested, I can send you photos some of my large Daliesque paintings that have caused great consternation when displayed in the American South starting from the 1960’s. I was in Paris in the early 60’s and was able to spend hours in the Modern Museum enjoying and studying Dali and company.
Montmartre, St. Germaine, the smoke-filled Blue note, French Onion Soup at 3AM in Les Halles and so much more took this kid from Aransas Pass to another plane. I saw “Un chien andalou” at Cinémathèque in Paris at age 20 and wanted to see more than that extraordinary 16 minutes offered. Have been searching ever since.
Finally Dada for Dada. Just imagine if the internet, Google and email had been up and running in 1916!
